Rockin’ 4 Relief raises money to help support families killed or injured in the line of duty

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The annual rocking for relief event helps support families of those injured or killed in the line of duty.
The non-profit organization raises money for families of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics when they are going through a hardship including those catastrophically injured or killed in the line of duty.
In previous years, volunteers would rock in rocking chairs for up to 10 hours straight outside grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and retail locations and collect donations from customers who come by.
Rockin’ 4 Relief has added a musical event to help raise additional funds for the cause.
Rockin’ 4 Relief has raised more than $287,000 including a $13,000 donation from Oprah Winfrey.
This year’s musical event will be held on October 12, 2024, starting at noon at Cask/Primo Vino in Cape Girardeau and run through 5pm.
The Rockin 4 relief event will have live music from Old Cape Road, food trucks, drinks, games, and a silent auction.
This family-friendly event will also feature several activities for kids.
Tickets are $50 and include two complimentary drinks and a free meal.
Tickets are free for first responders and kids.
Tickets for the event can be purchased and picked up at the Cook, Barkett, Ponder and Wolz office, located at 1610 N. Kingshighway, Ste #102 or #201.
All proceeds from Rockin’ 4 Relief will benefit the families of individuals who have been injured or killed in the line of duty, providing vital support during hard times to both responders and their families.
