Route 51 lane reduction planned for bridge maintenance Thursday

PERRY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Missouri Department of Transportation officials say Route 51 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane as crews perform bridge maintenance on the Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River.

The lane reduction will affect Route 51 from County Road 946 near Claryville, Missouri, to East Kaskaskia Street in Chester, Illinois. Weather permitting, work is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays and use caution in the work zone.
