Route Z to close for bridge replacement in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — A portion of Route Z in Cape Girardeau County will close later this month as crews replace the bridge over Hubble Creek.
The closure will affect Route Z between West Clark Street and County Road 222 near Gordonville.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, work is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 24, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2027. The work zone will remain in place 24 hours a day until the project is finished.
Drivers should expect the roadway to be closed during construction and are urged to use caution when traveling near the work zone, which will be marked with signs.
