Runaway cow caught near I-57 overpass

JOHNSTON CITY, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities in southern Illinois corralled a runaway cow that escaped from a stock trailer and roamed near an Interstate 57 overpass.

Johnston City police, Williamson County sheriff’s deputies and local cattlemen teamed up to catch the cow.

With the help of a lasso, the cow was safely taken into custody and returned to its owner.

No injuries were reported.
