‘Rutting Season’ has deer on the move

MISSOURI(KBSI) -The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office is giving a friendly reminder to be aware of deer when driving.
Deer are on the move as the autumn season approaches especially after 5 p.m. or dusk.
The Missouri Department of Conservation says fall is ‘rutting season’ for white tail deer.
Bucks (male deer) are looking for does (female deer) as its mating season.
This means deer will be paying less attention to roadways and surroundings and be on the move.
To help combat the rise of deer in populated areas the Missouri Department of Conservation is scheduling managed archery hunts in area parks.
