CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Safe House of Southeast Missouri has announced a leadership transition following the resignation of Executive Director Jessica Hill.
Hill has accepted a position with a statewide organization that advocates for ending abuse through education, alliances, research and public policy. Her last day with the Safe House will be Sept. 26.
During her tenure, Hill expanded outreach, strengthened partnerships and increased the organization’s capacity to serve individuals in crisis, the board said in a statement.
“We are deeply grateful for her leadership, her advocacy, and the many ways she has advanced our mission,” the board said. “We wish her every success in this next chapter.”
The board has appointed Kim Dixon as interim executive director. Dixon has worked closely with the Safe House and, according to the board, brings a strong understanding of its operations and commitment to its mission.
A search for a permanent executive director will begin immediately. The board said the transition will allow the organization to identify a leader to build on Hill’s foundation and guide the Safe House into the future.
The Safe House of Southeast Missouri provides services to adults and children who have experienced domestic violence. More information is available at www.semosafehouse.org.
