Saint Francis clinic honored for supporting domestic violence survivors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Safe House of Southeast Missouri recognized Saint Francis Healthcare System during its annual luncheon Aug. 27 for helping domestic violence survivors access health care.
The primary care team at Saint Francis Clinic Kingshighway was among five community partners honored for their support of survivors. The team received an award for providing timely, compassionate and trauma-informed care in an environment where patients could feel safe, respected and heard.
Saint Francis said the recognition reflects the health system’s commitment to expanding access to compassionate care for those who need it most.
Saint Francis Clinic Kingshighway provides family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine and counseling services. Its providers focus on preventive care, lifelong wellness and building relationships with patients of all ages.
Founded by Franciscan Sisters in 1875, Saint Francis Healthcare System includes Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital. The health system employs nearly 3,000 people and has more than 250 providers serving 10 communities.
Major services include cancer care, emergency and Level III trauma services, the Family BirthPlace, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, heart care, neuroscience and orthopedics.
