Saint Francis Healthcare experts train police in bleeding control
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Trauma experts from Saint Francis Healthcare System’s Emergency and Level III Trauma Center recently provided Stop the Bleed training to Cape Girardeau Police Department officers.
Uncontrolled bleeding is a leading cause of trauma-related deaths, accounting for 40% of fatalities.
The Stop the Bleed initiative aims to equip individuals with life-saving skills to control traumatic bleeding.
A second training session will be offered later this month to accommodate all 50 officers.
Saint Francis Foundation is also providing each officer with a Stop the Bleed trauma kit.
