CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System has completed its 2025 Saint Elizabeth Food Drive, donating 160 boxes filled with food and personal hygiene items to Saint Francis colleagues, families and community members in need.

Boxes were delivered to households across the region, as well as to partner organizations including Community Counseling Center and Catholic Charities. The donations help ensure families experiencing hardship receive nourishment and support during Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

“The Saint Elizabeth Food Drive is a powerful reminder of how blessed we are and the difference we can make when we give together,” said Emily Vines, manager of colleague communication and engagement. “Each year, our colleagues demonstrate extraordinary generosity in supporting families across our region.”

The annual drive brings together departments and clinics across the Healthcare System to assemble Thanksgiving meal boxes containing nonperishable food items and essential hygiene products.

Founded by Franciscan Sisters in 1875, Saint Francis Healthcare System remains committed to its mission of providing healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by faith in Jesus Christ.

Anchored by Saint Francis Medical Center — a 306-bed tertiary hospital — and supported by nearly 3,000 employees and more than 250 providers in 10 communities, the organization continues to serve as a major economic driver in the region.

Key services include the Cancer Institute, Emergency and Level III Trauma Center, Family BirthPlace and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Heart Hospital, and Neurosciences and Orthopedics.
