Saint Francis Healthcare System gives back to community members and organizations through 2024 Saint Elizabeth Food Drive

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Saint Francis Healthcare System is giving back to the community for the holidays.

Saint Francis Healthcare System announced they have handed out 164 boxes filled with food and personal hygiene items to community organizations and families in the area for the 2024 Saint Elizabeth Food Drive.

Boxes were delivered to local families and organizations like Community Counseling Center and Catholic Charities.

Last year Saint Francis handed out 150 boxes to the community so they saw an increase in those they could help this year by handing out 164 boxes.

The Saint Elizabeth Drive is a food drive event that’s held each year, where departments, and clinics across the Healthcare System join together to supply Thanksgiving meals containing food and hygiene items to families in need in the region.

Colleagues are also encouraged to decorate (wrap, paint, color, etc.) their Saint Elizabeth Food Drive boxes and there is an internal judging competition done.

Saint Francis Healthcare System says they hold the food drive each year because they strive to promote generosity in helping to provide a glimmer of hope to families in need across the region.
