CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System will host an Occupational Medicine Spring Breakfast next month aimed at connecting employers and community partners with workplace health resources.

The event, titled “Growing a Healthier Workplace,” is scheduled for April 8 from 7:45 to 9 a.m. in the Saint John of God Conference Room at 211 Saint Francis Drive in Cape Girardeau.

According to the healthcare system, the breakfast will highlight occupational health services that support employers with pre-employment screenings, workplace safety programs, employee health services, injury prevention and return-to-work initiatives.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet occupational health providers Dr. Damian Dyer and Crista Merriman, an advanced practice registered nurse, and ask questions about partnering with healthcare professionals to support workforce health and safety.

Saint Francis Healthcare System said the event is designed to help organizations learn how occupational medicine programs can help keep employees healthy, safe and productive.

Founded in 1875 by the Franciscan Sisters, Saint Francis Healthcare System includes Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital, and employs nearly 3,000 staff members with more than 250 providers serving 10 communities across the region. Major services include cancer care, emergency and trauma services, a neonatal intensive care unit, heart care, neurosciences and orthopedic programs.
