MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — The Salvation Army of Southern Illinois will host its “Thrifted and Thriving” fashion show fundraiser April 10 at its Marion thrift store.

The sold-out event is expected to draw more than 80 attendees and will feature 17 local models showcasing outfits sourced entirely from the thrift store. Organizers say the event highlights how thrift store sales help fund programs serving individuals and families across southern Illinois.

Attendees will also hear from Marion resident DeeEllen White, who lost her home in a tornado in May 2025. Officials said support from The Salvation Army helped her recover and regain stability.

The event will also include more than 25 raffle items donated by local businesses and nonprofits.

The fashion show is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, 906 Tower Square Plaza.

Darla Harms, associate director of The Salvation Army of Southern Illinois, is available as a spokesperson.

Organizers said coverage of the event will help raise awareness about services provided to those in need throughout the region.

The Salvation Army, founded in 1865, provides social services including disaster relief, housing assistance, food programs and emergency shelter to millions of people each year.
