SCAM ALERT: Fake Sheriff’s Office calls target Graves County residents

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Authorities are warning residents of a scam in which a man claiming to be Sgt. Johnson with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office is calling residents, requesting money to avoid arrest.

The scammer is using the phone number (270) 238-5671. Residents are advised not to fall for the scam, as law enforcement agencies do not conduct business in this manner.

Multiple reports of the scam have been made to authorities.
