Scott City man arrested for failing to register as sex offender

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Benjamin Bartholomew Harrison, 32, of Scott City, on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, Sheriff Derick Wheetley announced Tuesday.

Deputies began an investigation on Nov. 10 after receiving information that Harrison, who is required to register as a sex offender, had failed to comply with Missouri’s registration requirements under RSMo 589.425.

Following the investigation, Harrison was taken into custody and transported to the Scott County Jail. He remains held on a $60,000 cash or surety bond.
