Scott City police chief warns to be aware of what you post on social media
SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – With social media becoming more in our daily lives, it’s important to know the role of the social media with law enforcement.
“It’s been currently increased,” said Scott City Police Chief Chris Griggs. “It’s more and more frequent that we see that was law-enforcement sometimes social media tend to work as a tool for law enforcement investigations.”
Chief Griggs says people need to be more aware of what they are posting on social media and that it can draw the attention of law enforcement.
“We understand that social media we have to understand that social media doesn’t look anymore and if you’re in the business of doing something illegal, whatever that may be and you decide that it’s a good idea to post on social media if you have active or something like that it’s going to draw the attention of law enforcement,” said Chief Griggs.
