Scott City swears in new Mayor after unanimous vote

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – A new mayor will be appointed at the Scott City, City Council meeting on Monday August 18, 2025, at 7:00 pm.

Through unanimous vote by the Scott City Council Rick Brashear was sworn in as the new Scott City Mayor.

Brashear will finish out the rest of former Mayor Brants term.

This comes after Brant faces a misdemeanor charge for assault in connection to an incident that involved a Scott City business owner during a city council meeting in July.

Rick Brashear is a Ward 3 Scott City Councilmen.
