Scott County deputies arrest wanted felony suspect after pursuit

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) – The Scott County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a wanted felony suspect following a pursuit in Benton.
Deputies and a probation and parole officer attempted to stop Darin William Tuleja on Sept. 9 after spotting him operating an ATV along County Highway 331. Authorities confirmed Tuleja had two active felony warrants at the time.
According to the sheriff’s office, Tuleja abandoned the ATV and fled on foot. Witnesses identified him, and deputies later saw him leaving a residence on the highway. After briefly retreating inside the trailer, Tuleja surrendered following repeated commands.
He was arrested without incident, searched and transported to the Scott County Jail, where he remains in custody. Tuleja faces a charge of resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony, in addition to his outstanding warrants.
Sheriff Derick Wheetley said the case remains under investigation.
