Scott County man arrested on 13 child pornography charges

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says a Caruthersville man was arrested Wednesday on 13 counts of possessing child pornography.
Detectives located and arrested Donnie Preston Viar without incident, according to a statement from Sheriff Derick Wheetley. Viar is being held in the Scott County Jail without bond.
The charges stem from an outstanding warrant for 13 counts of possession of child pornography under Section 573.037 of Missouri law.
“The Scott County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to keeping our citizens safe and maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities—especially for our children,” Wheetley said.
