Scott County sheriff issues travel reminder ahead of winter storm
FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Scott County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists that vehicles wrapped in caution tape along roadways have already been checked by deputies and do not require additional response as a winter storm approaches.
Officials said drivers who see a vehicle stopped along the roadside without caution tape are encouraged to notify the sheriff’s office so deputies can check on the situation.
The sheriff’s office also urged the public to limit travel unless absolutely necessary to reduce the risk of crashes and injuries during hazardous weather conditions.
The reminder was issued by Cpl. Trevor Kilburn, public information officer for the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
