Scott County Sheriff’s Office conducts 95 sex offender compliance checks, seven arrested

BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office conducted 95 sex offender compliance checks between September 1 and October 31, 2025, to ensure individuals required to register are following Missouri’s sex offender registration laws.

As a result of the operation, seven individuals were arrested and charged with various registration-related offenses:

  • Jason Luther – Sex Offender Registration Violation (RSMo 566.600)
    Bond: $75,000 cash or surety
  • Donnie Thomas – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (RSMo 589.425)
    No bond
  • John Aldridge – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (RSMo 589.425)
    No bond
  • Ryan Stevenson – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (RSMo 589.425); Residency Restrictions Violation (RSMo 566.147)
    No bond
  • Jennifer Stevenson – Aiding a Sex Offender to Elude Law Enforcement (RSMo 575.159)
    Bond: $5,000 cash or surety (bonded)
  • Gailon Applewhite – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (RSMo 589.425)
    Bond: $60,000 cash or surety (bonded)
  • Carly Graham-Armstrong – Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (RSMo 589.425)
    Bond: $30,000 cash or surety

“These compliance checks reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of Scott County residents and maintaining accountability among registered offenders,” said Sheriff Derick Wheetley.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office continues proactive enforcement of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) and works to ensure all registrants remain compliant.
