Scott County Sheriff’s Office receives donated truck to support agricultural patrols

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has received a donated Ford F-250 Super Duty truck to support its service to the county’s agricultural community.
Sheriff Derick Wheetley said David Russell and Tank Tech of Blodgett donated the vehicle to the department. The truck has been added to the sheriff’s office fleet and assigned to Capt. Finley, who oversees the Patrol Division and serves as a liaison to local farmers and agricultural producers.
Officials said the vehicle will be used for outreach, response and enforcement efforts aimed at protecting rural residents and farm property throughout the county.
The sheriff’s office agricultural investigator handles cases involving livestock theft, equipment theft, trespassing, vandalism and illegal dumping, among other crimes affecting farms and rural property. The position also works with producers and partner agencies to address agriculture-related concerns.
The sheriff’s office thanked community partners for supporting public safety resources and the county’s agricultural industry.
