Scott County Sheriff’s Office receives prestigious Missouri Blue Shield Designation
BENTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has received the Missouri Blue Shield designation from the Missouri Department of Public Safety.
The designation recognizes communities that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing public safety and supporting law enforcement. The program was created by Governor Kehoe through Executive Order 25-03 in January 2025.
“This designation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of local governments across Missouri who are leading the way in making public safety a priority,” Governor Kehoe said.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office will receive grant funding for law enforcement training and equipment as part of the program.
“We are proud to announce the receipt of this grant, which will significantly support our ongoing mission to combat crime and ensure public safety,” said Sheriff Derick Wheetley.
