‘Scouting for food’ drive continues for the 39th year

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.(KBSI) – The Scouting for food drive will be held again this year for the 39th year in a row to help support local food pantries.

The Food Drive that will begin this Saturday, November 16th, 2024.

All food from this drive stays local and, on collection day, is packed and given directly to local pantries that evening so it gets to shelves quickly to help with local needs.

Scouting for Food is the largest single-day food drive in the nation and is supported by The Greater St. Louis Area Council Scouting. 

Bag distribution day is November 16th, and food collection day is on November 23rd, 2024.

Scouts drop off blue bags throughout the counties they cover.

The week after the drive, there will be numerous drop off locations accepting food donations as part of the Scouting for Food drive.

Drop off at select Dierberg’s and Lion’s Choice locations.
