Search underway after boat discovered in Kentucky

SMITHLAND, Ky., (KBSI) — Authorities are searching for potential missing persons after a capsized jon boat was discovered near the Smithland riverfront.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday and initiated a search effort with Livingston County Emergency Management.

The boat’s owner is unknown, and it’s unclear if anyone was on board. The sheriff’s office is seeking public assistance and asks anyone with information to call 270-928-2122.
