Sedalia man arrested after hit-and-run crash in Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — A Sedalia man was arrested Friday night after a hit-and-run crash in Mayfield, police said.

Officers with the Mayfield Police Department were dispatched around 8 p.m. Aug. 30 to Highway 80 and Cuba Road after a collision was reported. A vehicle description was obtained, and officers located the suspect vehicle near Cuba Road and West Tucker Road.

Police said the driver, Hector Garcia, 52, was under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody. Garcia was charged with first offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and no operator’s license. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Garcia was taken to the McCracken County Jail. The Graves County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
