Semi-truck collides with snowplow on I-24 in Lyon County

EDDYVILLE, Ky., (KBSI) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision involving a snow plow on I-24 in Lyon County.
The crash occurred near the 36-mile marker when a semi-truck collided with a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet snow plow around 6:47 p.m. CT.
According to investigators, the snow plow was treating and plowing the eastbound lanes when the truck, operated by 40-year-old Dawit Tirago of Snellville, Georgia, struck the rear of the snow plow.
No injuries were reported. Traffic is being redirected through the KSP Commercial Vehicle Scale Facility while the scene is cleared.
Police are advising motorists to avoid travel unless necessary due to hazardous road conditions and limited visibility. If travel is necessary, drivers are urged to reduce speeds and give snow plows extra space.
The collision serves as a reminder for motorists to exercise caution when driving near snowplows.
