SEMO Food Bank & VA Health Clinic host the first Veterans Healthy Food Surplus distribution in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)- At 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, Southeast Missouri Food Bank in partnership with the VA Health Care Center in Cape Girardeau will host the first Veterans Healthy Food Surplus distribution in Cape Girardeau County.

This is an expansion of the program currently offered through the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Made possible with assistance from a grant from the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, food will be provided for the first 100 Veterans on a first-come, first-served basis.

The distribution will include nutritious food such as fresh produce.

The Cape Girardeau VA Health Care Center distribution will be at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Cape VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
