SOUTHEAST MISSOURI(KBSI) – The SEMO Foodbank recently awarded 4 different partner agencies with funding.

The SEMO Foodbank says that they have awarded $10,000 dollars to 4 different agencies throughout their 16-county area.

SEMO Foodbank says the funds will allow agencies to improve and increase their distribution process.

“Over the past year, each of these partners has demonstrated true dedication to serving their communities,” said Camille Peters, chief impact officer at SEMO Food Bank. “These groups are on the frontlines of the fight against hunger and often work with limited resources.”

Grants have been awarded to these locations

-Broseley Senior Community Center in Butler County

-Helping Hand in Dunklin County

-Kennett Oaks Nutrition Center in Dunklin County

-Regional Family Crisis Center

The grant opportunity was open to all of the food bank’s 140 partner agencies, who were invited to submit a request for a maximum of $3,000 with information on what would be purchased and how it would allow them to better serve their communities.

The grants were used to purchase things like new shelving and freezers that will allow the agencies to be more efficient in distributions and increase their storage capacity.
