SEMO holds ceremony for new Charles Stamp Cyber Command Center during Cyber Security Awareness month

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A ribbon cutting dedication and ceremony to welcome a new addition to SEMO’s campus with be held in October.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month which makes October the perfect time to hold such a ceremony.

Hosted by Southeast Missouri State University the event will celebrate the opening of the Charles Stamp Cyber Command Center at SEMO.

Former SEMO graduate Charles Stamp generously gifted the funding to build the Cyber Command Center. 

The Charles Stamp Cyber Command Center is one of a kind and offers hands on learning in cyber security.

Students will work inside the state-of-the-art FBI style center and handle real life cyber security scenarios and issues.

The command center offers experience not offered anywhere else in Southeast Missouri.

The ceremony will take place on Friday October 25, at 11:45 am at Dempster Hall, Bottom Level, outside Room 023. 

The public is invited to attend.
