SEMO hosting WISER Conversations: Celebrating Cape Girardeau Women in Science, Entrepreneurship, and Research

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University will host a “WISER Conversations: Celebrating Cape Girardeau Women in Science, Entrepreneurship, and Research” event at 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at the Atrium of the University River Campus.
Southeast Missouri State University will host a “WISER Conversations: Celebrating Cape Girardeau Women in Science, Entrepreneurship, and Research” event at 8:30 am – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at the Atrium of the University River Campus.
“WISER Conversations” highlights women who are involved in a variety of capacities in the sciences, particularly in areas of medicine, entrepreneurship, and research, and is presented by the Southeast Missouri State University College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and the Missouri Cures Education Foundation.
Missouri Cures Education Foundation is a statewide nonprofit public education and advocacy alliance that works to promote and protect medical advances to improve the health of Missourians and stimulate the economy in our state. Since 2013, Missouri Cures Education Foundation has hosted WISER events across the state, highlight women excelling in science, technology, research, business, and innovation.
In addition to providing networking opportunities, “WISER Conversations” features two panel sessions moderated by current Southeast students: “A Conversation with Women in Medicine” and “Breaking Boundaries: Women in Entrepreneurship and Research.”

Though featuring women-identifying individuals, this event is open to everyone. Tickets are free to Southeast students, $25 for non-students, and $175 for a table of up to 8 people.
