SEMO Industrial Park earns Missouri Certified Site designation

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced that SEMO Industrial Park in Scott City has achieved Missouri Certified Site status.

The 380-acre industrial park meets the state’s standards for development-ready sites, indicating it is shovel-ready for businesses looking to establish operations in southeast Missouri.

“SEMO Industrial Park’s certification signals that the site is ready for business investment, job creation and economic growth,” said Michelle Hataway, DED director.

The park joins over 30 other Missouri Certified Sites statewide, having met standards for utilities, site access, environmental concerns and development costs.

SEMO Industrial Park has already secured a commitment from Amazon for a 61,000-square-foot facility, creating 70 new jobs. The site offers strategic placement near major transportation routes and infrastructure development is expected to be completed by August 2025.

Available parcels range from five to 20-plus acres, and interested businesses can learn more at SEMOIP.com.
