SEMO professor selected for English Language Specialist Program
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Dr. Sarah Dietrich, an associate professor of English at Southeast Missouri State University, has been selected for a second time to participate in the U.S. Department of State’s English Language Specialist Program.
Dietrich will participate in a 10-week virtual assignment to support professionals in the Kurdistan region of Iraq working on women’s rights, gender-based violence advocacy and ecological sustainability.
The program supports projects in over 80 countries, empowering Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages professionals to collaborate with educational leaders and establish international partnerships.
Dietrich previously taught language for civil society and media literacy in the Kurdistan region of Iraq in 2024.
