SEMO Redhawks win 6-2 over SIU Salukis at home

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – FOX23 enjoyed a night at the ballpark Tuesday evening.

It was FOX23 client appreciation night at the SEMO vs SIU game at Capaha Field.

The game was kicked off with a ceremonial first pitch by FOX23 News anchor Jeremy Ford.

The Redhawks snapped a six-game losing streak in a 6-2 win.

The Redhawks baseball team is now 23-19 and 11-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Salukis baseball team is now 23-18, 10-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Right-handed pitcher Payton Lawrence pitched 6.1 inning. He allowed two runs on three hits. He struck our seven over 26 batters faced.

Chance Resetich and Jevon mason had hits. Resetich hit is fifth home run of the season.

The Salukis got back-to-back singles in the ninth inning, but the Redhawks won.

The Redhawks will host Lindenwood April 28-30. First pitch on Friday, April 28 is slated for 6 p.m. from Capaha Field.
