SEMO to host K12TechPro NEXT Day focused on emerging education technology

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri State University will host K12TechPro NEXT Day on Friday, Feb. 20, bringing regional educators together to explore emerging technology trends in K-12 education.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the University Center.

K12TechPro NEXT Day is designed for school technology leaders and will feature hands-on learning opportunities, networking and discussions focused on trends shaping educational technology. Attendees will also participate in a 2026 technology forecast presented by the K12TechPro team.

Two rounds of breakout sessions will allow participants to customize their experience. Topics include the future of networking, devices and classroom technology, with sessions led by HPE/Aruba, CTL, Extreme Networks and Schiller’s.

Dr. Melissa Odegard, interim dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Studies, said the university is committed to supporting educators as technology continues to evolve.

“SEMO began as a teacher’s college, and we are still committed to preparing our K-12 educators to adapt to the rapidly evolving technology landscape in schools,” Odegard said in a statement.

The event will also include a SEMO Tech Talk covering topics such as artificial intelligence in education, web accessibility and content filtering. The day will conclude with closing remarks and prize giveaways.
