SEMO to host Paying for College Workshops

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – SEMO’s Office of Admissions is hosting Paying for College Workshops, providing support to high school students, their families, and adult learners navigating the details of college affordability.
According to SEMO the workshops are tailored to help participants fully understand how to finance a college education from exploring scholarships and grants to successfully completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
With guidance from SEMO’s financial aid professionals, students will receive the tools they need to make decisions and avoid missing key funding opportunities.
“At SEMO, we are committed to helping every student achieve their educational dreams,” said Lenell Hahn, Director of Admissions. “These workshops are just one of the many ways SEMO is here to help students, and their families take the next steps toward the future they want.”
The Paying for College workshops includes a meal and an engaging presentation on how to fund a degree, emphasizing personalized strategies for navigating financial aid and scholarship applications. Each workshop will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. at three locations across the region:
-
Tuesday, January 14, 2025 – Sikeston Regional Campus
-
Wednesday, January 15, 2025 – Kennett Regional Campus
-
Thursday, January 16, 2025 – SEMO Cape Girardeau Campus
In addition to the presentation, students can talk one on one to get individual questions answered. Students are encouraged to register now for a workshop and complete their FAFSA before the priority deadline of February 1, 2025, to secure the most financial aid support.
