SEMO to transition services of APPLE Project to new provider

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University will transition services provided by the APPLE Project to S.M.A.R.T. Senior Services.

APPLE is an outreach program that helps senior adults with Applications, Personal Papers, Legal and Environmental paperwork (APPLE).

It is a free service for residents 60 years or older in Cape Girardeau, Perry, Scott, and Bollinger counties.

S.M.A.R.T. Senior Services is a new nonprofit organization. It has a dedicated focus of providing these services for seniors.

The organization is led by Michele Welker, who also coordinated the APPLE Project at Southeast.

The transition of services from APPLE to S.M.A.R.T. will take effect December 31, 2023.
