SEMO Track & Field Heads to Alabama for Crimson Tide Invitational

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Southeast Missouri State track and field will compete at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, April 11–12. Events begin Friday at 10 a.m. CST and concludes Saturday evening with the men’s 4x400m relay.
SEMO enters the meet with strong regional and national performances among their athletes. The Redhawks hold two national top-50 marks, 31 top-25 Midwest rankings, and 45 top-five placements in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
Luke Hatfield Jackson leads the way nationally, ranking 22nd in the high jump and 6th in the long jump. Paden Lewis ranks 29th in the hammer throw and holds top-15 regional marks in discus and shot put.
SEMO’s men are ranked 128th nationally, 13th in the Midwest, and first in the OVC a great mark for the Redhawks. The women’s team holds the top spot in the OVC and ranks 27th in the Midwest a great showing from the women’s side as well.
Following Tuscaloosa, SEMO will compete at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta April 18–19.
