SEMO Women’s Basketball adds guard for final signing of 2024-25 class

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri Women’s Basketball announced its final signing of the 2024-25 class.
Lexi McCully will join the inaugural class of SEMO Women’s Basketball’s new head coach Briley Palmer’s erea.
McCully is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She played for both Mineral Area College (2021-2023) and Georgia Southwestern a season ago.
She graduated from East Kentwood High School in 2021 and joined Coach Palmer at Mineral Area College (MAC). She played in 32 games over her two seasons at MAC where she earned all-American honors.
McCully registered 29.6 minutes-per-game scoring 573 points during her two-year stretch. She averaged 17.9 points-per-game and dished out 94 assists.
She averaged 3.7 rebounds a game, with 118 rebounds in two seasons.
In 2023-24, McCully played at NCAA Division II Georgia Southwestern where she played in 32 games, including 17 Peach Belt Conference matchups. She averaged 20.9 minutes-per-game on a team that reached the Division II Elite Eight.
McCully shot 32.2 percent from behind-the-arc and scored 266 points in one season with the Surge.
She is daughter of Alonzo and Bernita McCully. She was an All-Academic Team selection all four years of high school. She was awarded with All-Conference honors during her junior and senior seasons.
McCully plans to major in communications at Southeast.
