Sen. Jamie Burger gives 2026 legislative update in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Missouri state Sen. Jamie Burger spoke to members of the Cape Girardeau Rotary Club on Monday, providing an update on the 2026 legislative session.

Burger discussed legislation passed this year in Jefferson City, issues facing the state and priorities affecting communities in Southeast Missouri.

Burger said the meeting also provided an opportunity to hear directly from people in the area about issues important to them.

Burger represents Missouri’s 27th Senate District, which includes portions of Southeast Missouri.
