Sesser man sentenced to 88 years for sexual assault of children

BENTON, Ill., (KBSI) — A Franklin County man has been sentenced to 88 years in prison after being convicted of multiple child sexual assault charges.
Franklin County State’s Attorney Abby Dinn announced Thursday that Darrell Pool, 54, of Sesser, was sentenced to a total of 88 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
According to prosecutors, the case began in May 2022 when a child disclosed to her mother that Pool had sexually abused her. Months later, a second child came forward with similar allegations.
Following an investigation, Pool was charged in November 2022 with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal.
