Severe storm causes widespread damage, injuries in Ballard and Calloway counties

BALLARD COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A severe storm has caused significant damage in Ballard and Calloway counties, with multiple power poles and lines down on KY 286 near Gage.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 1 team is assisting emergency responders and utility crews on scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Reports of damage include:

— Calloway County Pasco Farms destroyed in southwest Calloway County.
— Barns destroyed and possible home damage on Rayburn Road.
— Trees down and a tree on a mobile home in the Unionville area, with no reported injuries.
— Multiple structural damages in the Gage community, with snapped power poles and trees.
— Four injuries, including one critical condition.

Ballard County has verbally declared a state of emergency.
