Shawnee Community College holds Derby Days to celebrate ag industry

ULLIN, Ill. (KBSI) – Students and staff at Shawnee Community College celebrated the agriculture industry with a two-day event called Derby Days.

Tuesday, April 30 was the first day of the celebration.

The Agriculture Club held the Ag Olympics. Teams of four competed in competitions like water bucket carrying, cow milking, and pig corralling, to name a few.

The Shawnee maintenance crew won the event with a total time of two minutes and 43 seconds.

The fun continues May 1 at 10 a.m. with an Ag Career Fair and Cow Patty Bingo which is exactly what it sounds like. Bingo starts at 1:30 p.m.
