Sheriff’s Office: 2 arrested after selling Fentanyl to undercover detectives in Paducah

(KBSI) – Two people face Fentanyl trafficking charges after they were arrested in McCracken County Thursday afternoon.

Martin S. Monk, 26, of Maxon Road in McCracken County faces charges of trafficking in Fentanyl, no registration plates and no registration receipt.

Rachael N. Lloyd, 18, of Metropolis, Ill. faces a charges of trafficking in Fentanyl.

The investigation began on Apri 18 when detectives received information that Lloyd was selling Fentanyl capsules.

Detectives contacted Lloyd and arranged to make a Fentanyl pill purchase from her in McCracken County.

Lloyd and Monk arrived and sold detectives five suspected Fentanyl capsules, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives purchased 20 additional Fentanyl capsules from the couple in the parking lot of a business located 5353 Cairo Road in Paducah on April 20, according to the sheriff’s office.

Monk and Lloyd were arrested immediately after the sale took place on the parking lot.

The investigation revealed that the couple had a motel room in Metropolis.

Detectives contacted the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force who obtained a search warrant for the couple’s hotel room 2119 E 5th Street in Metropolis.

Detectives found additional Fentanyl capsules and a small amount of marijuana, according to the sheriff’s office.

Monk and Lloyd were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
