Sheriff’s Office: Crash leads to arrest of man after meth found in vehicle
MCLEANSBORO, Ill. (KBSI) – A man faces drug and other charges after an injury crash in Hamilton County early Tuesday morning.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, McLeansboro Police Department, McLeansboro Fire Department and Hamilton County Ambulance Service responded to a reported traffic crash with injuries on State Route 142 near County Road 460 East just west of McLeansboro at 3:13 a.m. on June 27.
Harland Hammond, was freed from the vehicle with minor injuries. He was taken to Hamilton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office then found more than 100 grams of methamphetamine inside of Hammond’s vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was released from treatment and arrested.
Hammond faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage.
Hammond is being held at the White County Jail pending court appearance.
