Sheriff’s Office recovers multiple stolen vehicles in wooded area

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Sheriff’s Office investigating after recovering multiple stolen vehicles.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office on December 19, 2024, at 4:15 am the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office located and recovered multiple stolen vehicles.
The stolen vehicles, a Jeep and ATV, were found by deputies while conducting a search of the Sugar Creek area located south of Creal Springs.
Deputies were following an earlier tip which led them to search the wooded area.
Both vehicles were located on riding trails approximately one mile from the nearest roadway. The Jeep appeared to have been operated on the rough terrain in a manner which destroyed the vehicle.
The Jeep was previously reported stolen out of Marion and the ATV out of rural Williamson County.
Specialized tow equipment, assisted by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office ATV patrol unit, were used in the recovery effort.
