Shooting at Mayfield football game sends players, fans scrambling

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) — A shooting at a Mayfield High School football game Friday night sent players and coaches scrambling from the field and left one person injured, according to authorities.
The Mayfield Police Department said the gunfire occurred in a parking area adjacent to War Memorial Stadium. One adult victim was taken by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and later flown to Nashville for treatment.
Police said detectives are collecting evidence and processing the scene. The investigation is being assisted by the Kentucky State Police, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Mayfield EMS and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
