Shooting on I-57 injures several and worries locals

CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – “It makes me very uncomfortable just trying to get to work. You just never know what’s going to happen. All these innocent people got shot and killed just driving on their way to work and they had no idea what’s going to happen that day.”

Abbigail Steibel is a Missouri local who drives to work daily. She says she is going to be extra cautious from now on even when it’s a simple activity like driving into work. 

She says she’s mostly alone in her car when driving and wouldn’t know what to do if her car ever got shot at. 

“For being a young female too and driving by yourself for over an hour it is pretty scary to not know what to do. You know if you get your tire shot at what you’re supposed to do at that point.”

The police are still investigating as they search for the suspect. 

Police believe that Couch is hiding somewhere in the woods. 

Steibel says her heart goes out to the victims that were injured and she hopes the suspect is found soon. 

“I feel very sad for the families and the victims. I really hope they find this guy and I hope justice is served.”
