Sikeston DPS investigating 1 shot during fight

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers are investigating after one person was shot early Tuesday morning.

A witness told officers he/she heard a fight and gunshots outside of his/her home in the 200 block of Broadway.

During investigation, law enforcement were notified by hospital staff that a juvenile was shot and brought in for treatment. Police say someone showed a firearm during a fight and shot, striking the victim.

Sikeston DPS officers are not releasing the victim’s identity or condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
