Sikeston DPS says goodbye to long standing Lieutenant and Captain

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Two officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety say their goodbyes in 2024.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety tells Lieutenant Scott Kim and Captain Derick Wheetley goodbye and good luck.

Lieutenant Scott Kim has given 16 years of dedicated service to Sikeston DPS.

According to Sikeston DPS Kim started as a Patrol Officer and worked his way up in ranking to Patrol Lieutenant.

Captain Derick Wheetley has given 19 years of dedicated service to Sikeston DPS and is leaving his role to assume his newly elected role as Scott County Sheriff.

Both Kim and Wheetley were recognized for their long-standing hard work and dedication to the department and the community.
