SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Sikeston Jaycees have donated $20,000 to the Sikeston Rodeo Museum, funding the purchase of display cabinets for the new museum.

The museum, set to open later this year, will showcase 72 years of Sikeston’s rodeo history.

Grant funding has supported the renovation of the historic building housing the museum, while a Missouri Humanities Grant has partially covered display costs.

Additional funding is still needed to complete the remaining displays and operational expenses.

Those interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Kathy Medley, Tourism & Museum Director, at 573-471-2498 or rodeomuseum@sikeston.net.

The Sikeston Rodeo Museum is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preserving Sikeston’s rodeo heritage.
